Repair or Replace a Damaged Fence? How to Decide

A few bad posts or half the fence rotted? Here's the honest call.

Fixing problems is how Jeff built his name in the fence business. Most of the time a repair makes sense. Sometimes replacement is the better value. Here's how we tell the difference before we quote you anything.

When Repair Makes Sense

If the damage is limited to a few posts, a section, or a gate, repair usually wins. A leaning post can be reset in concrete. A blown-out section can be rebuilt to match. A sagging gate can often be re-hung without replacing it.

  • A few rotted or leaning posts
  • One storm-damaged section
  • A sagging or misaligned gate
  • Broken boards or pickets in an otherwise solid fence

When Replacement Is the Better Value

If most posts are rotting, the fence is past its life, or the whole line has shifted, you'll spend more repairing it piece by piece than you would tearing out and rebuilding. We'll tell you honestly which side of that line you're on.

A full replacement also lets you fix the cause — deeper posts, better drainage, heavier gate posts — so the new fence lasts.

After a Storm

Call us and we'll get out as soon as our schedule allows to secure and repair the damage — tarping a gap, resetting a post, or rebuilding a section. We haul off the old fence too.
