Options

Stockade Privacy

Budget-friendly, full privacy, classic look.

Board-on-Board

Overlapped boards, no gaps as the wood shrinks.

Shadowbox

Alternating boards that look good from both sides and let breeze through.

Local Conditions

Why It Holds Up in Florida.

Humidity, termites, and summer storms are hard on wood. Ground-contact lumber, properly spaced posts, and good drainage at the base give a wood fence its best shot at a long life. Sealing or staining a few months after install adds even more years.

Service FAQ

Questions About Wood Fence.

How long does a wood fence last in Florida?+

With pressure-treated lumber and decent upkeep, many last 10–15 years. Sealing every couple of years helps a lot.

Should I stain my new fence right away?+

Give fresh pressure-treated wood time to dry out first, usually a few months, then seal or stain.

What height can I build?+

Six feet is common for backyards, but county codes and HOAs set limits, especially in front yards. We'll check before we quote.

Which side faces my neighbor?+

Usually the finished side faces out. Shadowbox and board-on-board look good on both sides if that matters to you.

Can you match my existing wood fence?+

In most cases, yes. New wood looks lighter at first and weathers in over time.

How much does a wood fence cost per foot?+

Pricing depends on height, style, footage, gates, and ground conditions — stockade costs least, and board-on-board or shadowbox cost more. Jeff gives a free on-site quote with real numbers for your yard, never a per-foot guess.

Is pressure-treated pine good for a fence in Florida?+

Yes. Pressure-treated pine rated for ground contact is the standard here because it resists rot and termites far better than untreated lumber. We use ground-contact-rated posts set in concrete.

Will a wood fence attract termites in Florida?+

Any wood can attract termites, but ground-contact pressure-treated pine resists them. Setting posts in concrete and keeping the base clear of mulch and debris helps a lot, and sealing every couple of years adds another layer of protection.
